Things You Should Start Doing Immediately to Look Younger
It happens to all of us, we roll out of bed, go into the bathroom and look into the mirror – all you see is dull, tired skin with dark circles under your eyes. Not a great sight.
Luckily, there are several things you can do to help look and feel younger. It takes time and effort to age well. The motto is, the earlier you start taking care of yourself, the easier it will be to stay looking young.
Upgrade that Skincare Routine
Why are you still using that lotion you picked up from Walgreens when you were 15? You skin is constantly changing, and your routine needs to change along with it. The skin you had when you were 15 is not the same skin as now, so why is your routine still the same?
Chisel started because we wanted to help guys look and feel great again. We created a no-nonsense skincare routine that makes it so easy improve your skin.
First things first, you’ll only see results if you stick to the routine. Follow the CMP rule in the morning and evenings.
Clean: wipe off all the oil and dead skin cells from that face!
Moisturize: your skin needs moisture to reduce wrinkles. Use an anti-aging cream on your entire face.
Pro tip: Use an eye-cream to help reduce the dark circles under your eyes. The skin around your eye is thinner than the rest of your face and needs extra care. Your eyes start show aging first.
Protect: The sun is the number 1 culprit in aging, protect your face with a sunscreen. Yes, even in winter and when its cloudy outside. When outside, the skin is exposed to damaging UV rays, free radicals and pollutants that cause skin damage. Sunscreen will help reduce sun exposure
For those who say they aren’t product guys. Stop saying that now, start protecting your skin, and don’t ever forget to wear sunscreen. You’ll hate us now, but thank us later.
Make Fitness a Priority
Staying in shape helps slow down aging. This doesn’t mean just go to the gym and lift weights like Arnold Shwarzeneggar (unless that’s your thing, then go do you), any kind of fitness will do. Running, yoga, spinning, team sports, pilates, and boxing are great ways to get in shape. Just make sure you get a good balance of cardio and strength training.
Pro tip: For guys with busy schedules, we recommend exercising first thing in the morning. As difficult as it is getting up in the morning, you’ll get your workout over with first thing in the morning and you’ll still have your evenings free.
Eat Healthy
No seriously, veggies are important. We found some great anti-aging foods filled with tons of vitamins and antioxidants: Watercress, red bell peppers, papayas, blueberries, broccoli, spinach, nuts, avocados and sweet potatoes to name a few!
Not all food is created equal, add fresh vegetables and healthy proteins to your diet. Try to cut out excess sugar and carbohydrates. Your skin will thank you.
Sleep More
I hear you, the final season of Game of Thrones is coming out and you must re-watch all the episodes before the premiere. Getting the extra hour or two of sleep is needed for your skin, while you’re asleep, the skin rejuvenates.
Its not only the quantity of sleep that matters, but also the quality of sleep. Try to keep the room temperature cool, this will help you fall and remain asleep. Try only setting two or three alarms to ring over 15 minutes instead of 15 alarms over an hour. This will help you get an additional 45 minutes of good quality sleep and reduce the groggy feeling.
